More Information
It's a 1978 Renault 4 TL "Plein Air Rep"!
What started life as a left hand drive Renault 4 van has been transformed into this thing!
The Renault 4 Plein air was a rare, open-top beach car built from 1968 to 1970 based on the classic Renault 4, it featured no doors, no fixed roof, and a fold-down canvas top.
Built to rival the Citroën Méhari during the late 1960s buggy craze.
It was more expensive and less rugged than the Méhari, leading to low sales and quick discontinuation.
This replica was built in the late 80's/early 90's using an F4 Van as the base. It features a Renault 16 engine mounted to a 5 speed manual Renault 5 Gordini gearbox.
Might be stating the obvious here but there's no roof or canvas top on this car so it's for fair weather use only!
This car has recently undergone some restoration work so is still looking quite fresh.
It's a shitload of fun to drive it's got quick acceleration and a fantastic engine note from the side exit exhaust. You can't help but smile when you get behind the wheel of this beauty!
If you're looking for something fun and totally unique for cruising around on sunny days this could be the car for you!
