It's a 1990 Rover Maestro!
Wow, here's a blast from the past! A Rover Maestro with 52k miles on the clock and MOT until August 2027!
It features the 1275 'A' Series engine and 4 speed manual gearbox.
A basic and dependable steed, the Maestro is soft and unremarkable in most respects.
It runs, it drives, it stops... What more could you possibly need?
This car also features later MG Alloy wheels, front fog lights and "special" decals. I'm to quite sure what is special about this, perhaps the person behind the wheel?
For home DIY enthusiasts, cheap speed demons and those who've spent the last 15 years incarcerated at Her Majesty's Pleasure, the Maestro represents a very attractive proposition. For the rest of us, it'll probably remain a curiosity, a car that represented the metamorphosis of Rover from a national embarrassment to something deemed worthy of BMW's sympathy.
Nonetheless, the Maestro's time may yet come, and despite the cheap laughs perpetrated at its expense, late models are nowhere near as bad as you may expect. Which, admittedly, is probably not saying a great deal, but is as close to an endorsement as any reasonable person could probably manage.
If you're in the market for something suitably shite to offend your co-workers, parents or partner this could be the car for you!
